How we handle your information

A New Awakening of The San Joaquin is licensed as a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) recovery and treatment provider. We protect client information in accordance with applicable confidentiality standards, including protections that typically apply to substance use treatment records.

We collect only what we need to provide care, verify benefits, and coordinate admissions. Information is shared with outside parties only with appropriate consent, when required by law, or in limited situations where safety obligations apply. If you are calling about a loved one, admissions will explain what we can and cannot share without proper authorization.

Your story stays protected

Treatment conversations, clinical notes, and identifying details are treated as confidential. Staff are expected to follow facility procedures for secure storage, limited access, and respectful communication. Questions about releases of information, family involvement, or records requests can be directed to admissions.

What you can expect

  • Care without discrimination based on race, religion, gender, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Clear information about the services we provide and the limits of our licensed scope
  • Participation in decisions about your recovery plan to the extent clinically appropriate
  • Privacy of your treatment information, subject to consent and legal requirements
  • Respectful, non-judgmental communication from staff
  • The ability to ask questions, raise concerns, and request clarification at any time

Scope note: We do not provide primary mental health treatment, psychiatric care, or inpatient dual-diagnosis medical management. When specialized mental health care is needed, we help connect clients with external physician or psychiatric referrals.

Ask before you commit to anything. Admissions can walk through exactly how confidentiality works in your situation — and that call itself is confidential.
